Twelve Apostles

Located just 11 km (almost 7 miles) from our campsite is a set of rock formations called the 12 Apostles. The view at sunset is stated to be the best time to view them since they are facing west and the setting Sun casts a beautiful glow on them. Charlie arranged a tour guide for 5 of us to view them shortly after dinner.

So at 7 PM we piled into the minivan and headed off. The guide was formerly the head ranger for the National Park that the 12 Apostles are located in who had some interesting insights to the park and the "stacks". The sandstone pillar structures stick out of the surf and form a unique sight.

The trip was worth the time. The light was just as pretty as they said it was going to be and the view was spectacular. I hope that the camera was able to capture a fraction of the beauty.

  1. Way cool, Brian - the 12 Apostles! I clicked on your link to them, got the Wikipedia page. Looking forward to seeing your photos, too. Either I don't know how to access them, or you'll upload them later when you get more WiFi time.

  2. Randy,

With an off day today, I've been able to upload all the photos for the trip. At the bottom of each day's entry, look for the link marked: "Photo Link:"
